There are no new short positions for Friday as obviously there is no downtrend in the stock market. However, there is clearly a downtrend underway in some energy – independent oil&gas stocks as four of the five stocks in my three main short scans were independent oil&gas stocks. CHK, CRK, SWN, and DVN were the only stocks in two of the three, with VIP being the other lone breakdown to make my scans. It is very possible to almost certain, barring a major world event, that the very lame rally attempt of 2009-2010 by the independent oil&gas stocks after their pretty clear 2008 top is coming to an end.
